Common dryer problems we fix

What you can check before you call

  1. Clean the lint screen before every load.
  2. Check that the vent duct behind the dryer isn't crushed or packed with lint.
  3. Electric dryers use a double breaker; check that it hasn't tripped.
  4. On a gas dryer, make sure the gas valve behind it is open.

Still no heat, or the dryer feels very hot outside? Stop using it and book a visit.

Dryer repair questions

Why does my dryer run but not heat?

On electric dryers the usual causes are the heating element, thermal fuse or a tripped breaker. On gas dryers it's often the igniter or gas valve coils. Book a visit and we'll test the parts and fix the right one.

Is a clogged dryer vent dangerous?

It can be. Lint buildup is a leading cause of home dryer fires, and a blocked vent also makes the dryer overheat and work longer. If the dryer smells hot or shuts off early, stop using it and book a visit.

Do you repair gas dryers?

Yes, both gas and electric. We service Miele, Speed Queen, Electrolux, LG, Samsung, Whirlpool, Maytag and other brands.
